Stitches and Techniques

The sample stitches and technique videos with downloadable PDF instructions for each stitch in the Tumbleweeds Series are provided below. They are categorised and appear in alphabetical and/or numerical order.
It is recommended, particularly where the more complicated stitches are concerned, that you work a sample on a doodle cloth before working it onto your project. Most of the samples are worked with thicker thread for the sake of clarity. It is suggested that you work the samples with the same thread, which is noted in the paragraph below each video clip.
Click here for the printable templates document. On this document are all the templates that were used in the stitching of the techniques and stitches in the video clips. Trace the templates onto a doodle cloth using a light box, or whatever method you prefer.

Sample Stitches: Needle Lace Embroidery

The video clip below is generic, providing instruction for all of the needle lace fillers in the Tumbleweeds series. The fillers for this design feature in the body of the instructions in the booklets that accompanied your kits.
Access the printable instructions for this video clip by clicking here. Work through the two samples on the video clip with perle #5 thread. Once you have done that you will be able to work any of the fillers in the Tumbleweeds series, adjusting your stitches according to the specific instructions for each filler.
